Indian benchmark indices are expected to open on a positive note on August 10, supported by GIFT Nifty futures, which were trading higher at around 24,660 in early deals.

The domestic market ended lower in the previous session, with weakness in financial stocks weighing on the benchmarks despite strong gains in auto and IT shares. Investors are likely to track global cues and sectoral trends for further direction.

Om Friday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 78499.17 down by -455.59 points or by -0.58 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24570.65 down by -65.35 points or by -0.27 %.

On the global front, Asian markets advanced in early deals on Monday, tracking last week's gains on Wall Street. Japan's Nikkei 225 and South Korea's Kospi were trading 1.46 per cent and 0.65 per cent higher, respectively.

Last week, the Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 settled 0.28 per cent and 0.62 per cent higher, respectively. The Nasdaq Composite settled 1.30 per cent higher.
