Indian benchmark indices are expected to open on a subdued note on August 6, taking cues from a flat trend in GIFT Nifty, which was trading around 24,643.50 in early trade.

In the previous session, domestic equity benchmarks ended on a positive note, with the Nifty reclaiming and closing above the 24,600 mark, aided by buying interest during the Closing Auction Session (CAS).

On Wednesday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 78581 up by 152.05 points or by 0.19 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24624.65 up by 9.75 points or by 0.04 %.

On the global front, most Asia-Pacific markets declined on Thursday morning. Japan's Nikkei 225 and South Korea's Kospi were trading at 1.66 per cent and 4.08 per cent, respectively.

Overnight, the Dow Jones Industrial Average settled at a record high, supported by strong quarterly performance and renewed optimism about artificial intelligence shares. The index rose 0.49 per cent to 54,349.

The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite settled 0.17 per cent and 0.83 per cent down, respectively.

Therefore, the net investment of equity and debt reported were Rs. 9323.38 Crore and Rs. 1047.48
